Europe Day Dinner postponed until 2 September 2020

Dear Members,

The ECCT's 2020 Europe Day Dinner has been postponed until 2 September 2020 and will be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Taipei, starting at 18:00.

The decision to postpone the event, originally scheduled for 14 May, has been made, in response to health concerns arising from the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus (Covid-19). Considering government advice to avoid large gatherings and increase social distancing during this critical time, we believe that it is in the best interest of all participants to postpone the event until the autumn when the virus will likely be under control. Our guest of honour, President Tsai Ing-wen, has been notified of the new date and this decision has the full support from the ECCT's board of directors.

While the date has been postponed, we will proceed with our chosen theme for this year "70 Years of European Economic Progress & Cooperation" and anticipate that this year's dinner will, as in previous years, attract over 700 guests, including cabinet ministers, senior government officials, city mayors and leaders of Taiwanese business groups, to celebrate the close cooperation between the Taiwan government and the local and European business community in Taiwan.

We thank you all for your understanding and support.

Regards,

Freddie Höglund

CEO of ECCT
