ECCT visit to NTU President Chen Wen-chang

An ECCT delegation led by Chairman Giuseppe Izzo and CEO Freddie Höglund held a meeting with National Taiwan University (NTU) President, Professor Chen Wen-chang and other senior academics at NTU. It was the chamber’s first meeting with President Chen since his appointment earlier this year.

At the meeting, Chairman Izzo congratulated President Chen on his appointment and expressed the hope that the ECCT’s excellent cooperation with NTU will continue during his tenure. In particular, the ECCT’s Low Carbon Initiative has been collaborating on the NTU International Mentorship Programme facilitated by the NTU International Affairs Office since 2021. Following the successful IMP in 2022, this year, 29 members of the ECCT have supported the IMP. The IMP is an important initiative that not only provides crucial on-the-job experience to students to help prepare them for their professional careers but also involves hands-on mentorship of students by senior managers, helping to bridge the gap between formal academic studies and real work experience.

Other members of the ECCT delegation attending the meeting were H Henry Chang, ECCT Vice Chairman and LCI Chair; Eric Yu, ECCT LCI Vice Chair; Sammy Su, ECCT LCI Director and Allen Chang, ECCT LCI Officer.

Other members of the NTU delegation were Professor Ding Shih-Torng, Executive Vice President & Distinguished Professor, Department of Animal Science and Technology; Professor Yuan Hsaio-Wei, Vice President for International Affairs & Professor, School of Forestry and Resources Conservation; Johnny Wu, Head of Global Relations, Office of International Affairs; Kai Hung, Manager of Global Relations and Project Lead, Office of International Affairs and Nicholas Hartowidjojo, Manager of Global Relations, Office of International Affairs.
