The ECCT paid a visit to Wu Lien-Ying, Director General of the National Taxation Bureau of Taipei, under the Ministry of Finance. The ECCT delegation was led by ECCT CEO Freddie Höglund and Lynn Chen, Co-Chair of the ECCT’s Tax committee (陳慧玲 稅務委員會聯合主席). The visit was also attended by several members of the Tax committee. During the meeting with DG Wu, delegates presented details of issues raised in the latest (2024) Tax Position Paper. In particular, they provided details on issues related to rules regarding CRS inspections, streamlining withholding tax payment procedures for companies and Taiwan’s position and schedule for the adoption of Pillar Two Global Anti-Base Erosion (“GloBE”) Rules.
