The European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan (ECCT) today announced that Giuseppe Izzo, Managing Director, Taiwan & Vice President, Asia Pacific Region for STMicroelectronics Ltd. will serve as chairman of the ECCT’s board of directors in 2024.  Giuseppe Izzo was re-elected to serve as chairman for a second consecutive one-year term by the new board of directors at their first meeting following the chamber’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) today. The 2024 boards of 15 directors and 5 supervisors were voted into office at today’s AGM by ECCT members (please see below for a full list of directors and supervisors).

In its annual report to members at today’s AGM, Chairman Izzo reported that 2023 was successful year for the chamber, despite challenging economic conditions. The chamber engaged frequently with government ministries and agencies throughout the year, helping to further promote its members’ business interests. Membership remained steady at over 1,020 individual members and the quality and participation at events remained high. A number of successful events were held and, in terms of advocacy, the chamber achieved progress on over 20% of the issues raised in its 2023 Position Papers.

The ECCT was extremely active during the year, holding its flagship Europe Day Dinner with President Tsai and several events featuring prominent local and international speakers. This included the 2023 Europe-Taiwan Telecom Forum, held for the seventh time, and separate Premium Event lunches with candidates for Taiwan’s 2024 presidential election. The chamber also launched its Family Friendly Alliance, which shares best practices aimed at creating a family friendly environment in Taiwan. In addition, the chamber arranged or participated in numerous conferences, seminars, and forums in conjunction with government agencies and non-governmental associations.

歐洲商會投票 選出2024年理事長及理監事

歐洲商會今日宣布，香港商意法半導體股份有限公司台灣分公司總經理兼副總裁尹容（Giuseppe Izzo）將續任歐洲商會理事長，任期為一年。此次選舉結果係由新任理事會成員在年度大會（AGM）後的第一次理事會會議上投票決定，同時選出了2024年15位理事和5位監事（請參見下表理監事完整名單）。

在年度大會中，理事長尹容向成員報告的年度報告中指出，儘管面臨著充滿挑戰的經濟環境，對歐洲商會而言，2023年是一個成功的一年。歐洲商會與政府各部門及單位保持密切互動，積極推動商會成員的商業權益。成員人數持續增長，目前已達到1020人，創下歷史新高。商會今年亦舉辦了多項成功的活動，在政策倡議方面， 2023年建議書中列舉的議題中，超過20%有所進展。

歐洲商會今年表現十分活躍，不僅邀請蔡英文總統參加「2023歐洲日晚宴」，更舉辦了多場高規格活動，邀請多位在台灣和國際上享有盛譽的講者參與，其中包括已連續舉辦第七次的2023年歐洲–台灣電信論壇，以及與2024年台灣總統候選人的交流午餐會。此外，商會推出了友善家庭聯盟，旨在分享在台灣打造家庭友善環境，提升生育率的建言，與各政府機構和非政府組織的合作，也讓商會參與並籌辦了眾多會議、研討會和論壇。
