Breakthroughs on double testing and charging standards

Major progress has been made on the longstanding double-testing advocacy issue raised by the ECCT’s Mobility committee. The Bureau of Standards Metrology and Inspections (BSMI) has officially announced that automotive audio and video components can be excluded from its mandatory inspection scope if such components are covered within the MOTC’s certification of the whole vehicle. In addition, in line with the committee’s recommendation, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) has agreed to apply two versions of Combined Charging System (CCS) standards in Taiwan for the pilot e-bus project, namely both CCS1 and CCS2 (which is the standard used in Europe).
