We at the LCI are pleased to include Google as our latest member. Google joins the LCI as it expects to power the world with clean energy. Google's goal is 100% renewable power, and so far it has committed to purchase over 2.2 gigawatts of renewable energy – equivalent to taking over 1 million cars off the road and making Google the largest non-utility purchaser of renewable energy in the world. Separately, it has also committed to invest nearly $2.5 billion in renewable energy projects, which produce enough electricity to power over 1 million US homes and also makes Google one of the largest corporate investors in renewable energy in the world. Google believes that through these two initiatives, it's creating a better future for everyone.
