Following the LCI annual meeting, Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) together with the LCI will launch  the “Paving the Way to Net Zero Power Report” 電力淨零路徑報告書to be presented to the MOEA Deputy Minister Tseng Wen-sheng 經濟部政務次長曾文生by Taipower President Wang Yao-ting 台電總經理王耀庭 and ECCT Chairman Giuseppe Izzo 歐洲商會理事長尹容. This report offers numerous policy proposals and innovative technology solutions aimed at speeding up Taiwan’s path to net zero power and carbon emissions.

Taiwan relies on fossil fuels to produce the bulk of its electricity. For this reason, transitioning to zero emissions power is the most effective way to reduce Taiwan’s overall emissions and make progress towards reaching net zero by 2050.This report includes chapters from ECCT members on subjects ranging from government policies on the use and certification of clean hydrogen, power system and energy storage, offering national low carbon strategy policy recommendations, generating onshore wind power, floating offshore wind technology, geothermal energy, decarbonizing the semiconductor value chain, implementing energy savings technologies for buildings, EV fast-charging networks, sustainable lighting, EVs for logistics, developing solutions for the production, facilitating access to green power and carbon credit markets.

Our special thanks to Taiwan Power Company, the co-publisher, as well as the contributors to the report: Energy Administration, MOEA, Taiwan Carbon Solution Exchange (TCX), ABB, Atlas Copco Taiwan, Baseload Power Taiwan, Bureau Veritas, Bosch Taiwan, College of Engineering, National Taiwan University, European Economic and Trade Office, ENERCON Taiwan, French Office in Taipei, Gaius Automotive, RCI Engineering, Schneider Electric, Signify Taiwan, TÜV Rheinland Taiwan, Ubiqconn Technology, and YARA Environmental Technologies.
