Taiwan is an attractive place for foreigners to live and work and several tax incentives and other benefits are available. However, it is important that foreign employees understand the procedures to apply for and report incentives.  It is equally important to companies who hire them understand the various work permit and visa schemes and application procedures to help them choose the right options for their employees and ensure a smooth application and approval process. At this lunch our guest speakers will explain what foreign employees need to know before filing Taiwan personal income tax returns and the key legal issues related to applying for a work visa from a company perspective.

Among other topics they will discuss:

  • Introduction to the different kinds of working permits (general/special work permits & the Employment Gold Card).
  • The do’s & don’ts of the visa/work permit application process.
  • Immigration limitation under COVID-19.
  • The 5 Ws questions about foreign individuals filing Taiwan income tax.
  • The interaction between the tax incentives and different types of work permits.
