The ECCT's Low Carbon Initiative (LCI) began 2021 by launching three working groups under its six categories; focusing on "Green Finance, Environmental Social Governance (ESG), Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA)", "Eco-mobility & Eco-logistics", and "Sustainable Supply Chain" in collaboration with Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF), RE100, Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI), Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Taoyuan City Gov., and Chung-hua Institute of Economic Research (CIER). The first group meeting of the "Green Finance, ESG, and CPPA" took place on 30 March at the PwC.

Thirty-five LCI members joined the LCI's "Green Finance, ESG, and CPPA" at the PwC conference room, invited five expert speakers to give insights on topics of Taipower’s Mechanism in Aiding Green Electricity to Trading Market, The Trend of Net-Zero Transition,  Taiwan Renewable Energy Certificate(TREC), Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA), and RE100 Taiwan Report of 2020. Leadership in the group is headed by ECCT’s LCI, PwC Taiwan, and PwC Legal Taiwan, who briefed on the 2021 objectives and meeting schedule for the group.

After the introductions and laying out of objectives, Kuo Fan-nan, Business Department Director of Taiwan Power Company, delivered a speech on Taipower’s Mechanism in Aiding Green Electricity to Trading Market.

The last talk was delivered by Dr. Lo Shih-fant of RE-100 Taiwan Hub on the RE100 Taiwan Report of 2020.

There was a very productive Q&A discussion for the next hour on the topic of the T-RECs bundled/ unbundle issues, green electricity supply and demand, and mechanisms for different energy end-users. The meeting went fruitful and delightful. After the meeting, many members broke to spend time networking over coffee and refreshments.
