In 2015, in response to the universal challenge that all people face with, the United Nations have proposed 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as guidelines that the countries of the world action to promote SDGs by 2030.

The 17 SDGs, including ending poverty and hunger, achieving gender equality, ensuring clean water and sanitation, combating climate change, ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns and more, is a set of goals with 169 targets that cover economic growth, social progress and environmental protection.

For the Governments, SDGs can be used for the policymaking guideline, internationalization principle, and the important index for the review of urban development, supporting the implementation of policy in local communities; and for the Enterprises, the report pointed out that the more the enterprises focus on the SDGs, the recognition from employees gets high, as well as making the enterprises more competitive. Over 60% of consumers are willing to spend more on the brands with sustainable development concepts.

This forum is organized jointly by the CommonWealth Magazine 天下雜誌 and the ECCT's Low Carbon Initiative (LCI) 低碳倡議行動. Representatives including Mayors of international/ local cities and executives of international/ local enterprises will present feasible policies and industry practices of SDGs in depth.
