Electro & Mechanical Technologies

Höganäs develops cost effective, compact and high-performing powder metallurgy solutions for the automotive industry. For medium to high volume production powder metallurgy offers a more sustainable and resource efficient manufacturing than commonly used competing technologies. Höganäs can also support with design and development services within load-carrying transmission gears, electric motors for traction as well as auxiliary functions, all in close collaboration with customers, top tiers and OEMs.

Our soft magnetic powders offer unique design possibilities for electrical motors and inductors, enabling higher performance, while reducing total cost. Our cost-efficient inductors are suitable for Solar, HVAC, xEV/Battery charging and Industrial applications. Inductors are produced in the EU and APAC, with global supply capabilities.

Surface & Joining Technologies

Metal and ceramic powders thermally applied on surfaces are also serving numerous industries, such as mining, construction, oil and gas, power generation, pulp and paper as well as agriculture. Benefits in wear and corrosion resistance means vastly extended service life for critical parts. We also offer powders and paste for welding electrodes and brazing applications. Our global footprint and application development centres makes us the perfect partner for new developments.

Höganäs also offers products for Metal Injection Moulding, another technology allowing economical production of small precision components with a high geometric complexity for small and large volumes.

Environmental Solutions

With a very big surface area in relation to volume, pure iron powders have a unique ability to to react with and absorb pollutants in water and soil. These properties pave the way for cleaning soil, waste water and even drinking water with specifically treated iron powders.
