With 2016 sales of EUR 11.9 billion, Covestro is among the world’s largest polymer companies. Business activities are focused on the manufacture of high-tech polymer materials and the development of innovative solutions for products used in many areas of daily life. The main segments served are the automotive, construction, wood processing and furniture, and electrical and electronics industries. Other sectors include sports and leisure, cosmetics, health and the chemical industry itself. Covestro, formerly Bayer MaterialScience, has 30 production sites worldwide and employs approximately 15,600 people (calculated as full-time equivalents) at the end of 2016 while Covestro (Taiwan) Ltd. has around 236 employees and owns two production sites in Changhua and Linyuan for producing TPU and Polyol respectively.

Core business includes:

1.Polyurethanes: The company develops and produces the components for rigid and flexible foams as well as for solid materials. Diverse applications range from mattresses and ski boots to insulating materials for refrigeration appliances and buildings.

2.Polycarbonates Lightweight, tough and freely formable, these high-performance plastics can be used in a wide variety of applications, including in the electrical and electronics, automotive and construction industries.  

3.Coatings, Adhesives, Specialties These products protect and enhance the appearance of such things as automobiles and furniture, and are used in the sports and leisure sector. In addition, Covestro supplies the chemical industry with numerous basic chemicals.
