On 19 August, the ECCT's Low Carbon Initiative (LCI), The Bankers Association of the Republic of China (BAROC), and Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF) will organize the "2022 ESG Finance Leaders Roundtable Forum".

Achieving low carbon and sustainable development through financial influence is now a global consensus. Authorities in Taiwan are also echoing the trend to develop sustainable finance, promoting “green finance initiative 2.0” to accelerate the application of ESG to financial operations, products and services.

Not only will the implementation of ESG help improve companies’ brand images, but it will also raise their competitiveness and strategic value in a world where eco-friendliness is increasingly viewed as important. To assist the financial industry to stay informed of potential opportunities, the Bankers Association of ROC, the Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance, and the European Chamber of Commerce’s Low Carbon Initiative (ECCT LCI) have jointly organised the “2022 ESG Finance Leaders Roundtable Forum I”.

The event will be opened by the FSC Vice Chairperson 金管會副主委 邱淑貞 and Bankers Association Chairman 銀行公會理事長 呂桔誠 together with the ECCT Vice Chairman Izzo, featuring executive speakers from the TABF, Crédit Agricole CIB, TUV Rheinland, and Ørsted, to talk about how banking sector responds to supply chain’s transitioning to decarbonisation and sustainability, GHG management in financial sectors, opportunities, challenges and transformation strategies in the rise of ESG. The objective of the event is encourage cross-industry exchanges and accelerate the development of Taiwan’s ESG financial ecosystem.

The forum with no extra charge opens 20 seats to the ECCT members on a first-come-first-serve basis (one ticket for each member company). Please sign up the event at the ECCT website.
