Europeans are struggling to overcome numerous challenges at home but every crisis also presents opportunities for business. European countries and corporations are leaders in a number of industries while Taiwanese firms are characterized by exceptional manufacturing and entrepreneurial strength at home, in China and South East Asia. To date, Europe has not attracted many investments from Taiwanese entrepreneurs but current difficulties may present some exciting new business opportunities as difficult times drive asset prices lower and EU governments take action to make their investment environments more attractive to foreign investors. There is also great potential for Europeans to partner with Taiwanese firms in moving into greater China and elsewhere in Asia.

As vice chairman of Taiwan’s most influential business organization, the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI) and head of one of the largest cement corporations in the greater China region, our guest speaker will share insights into his wealth of business and political experience in the greater China region. Mr Koo will be joined by fellow board directors from CNFI, to meet with and talk with their ECCT counterparts about areas for Taiwan-EU business cooperation. Among other topics our guest speaker will address include:
  • The status of EU-Taiwan business and the investment environments in Taiwan, China and Europe.
  • Key factors that would attract more Taiwanese investors to Europe and what European policy-makers need to do to secure these investments.
  • How to find good business opportunities and secure partnerships in difficult economic times.
