Voting for the ECCT 2018 Board of Directors and Board of Supervisors will take place on Friday, 1 December at 11:00 am. Please note that voting is only open to Regular members, and must take place in person at the AGM or via proxy forms.

2018 Board of Director Candidates

H. Henry Chang
Principal, Baker & McKenzie

20+ years of working experience in Taiwan and the Asia Pacific region. Long-time member of the ECCT’s board of directors helping the board and the ECCT to serve the community well with its various committees as a platform for informational exchange, as well as social and professional development. He had the privilege of witnessing the chamber’s growth over recent years as its longest serving director and hopes to continue to work with ECCT to develop its activities, and to help strengthen its ties with the local community.
 
 
Chen Mei-lin
Chief Operating Officer, Richemont Asia Pacific Ltd., Taiwan Branch


23 years of working experience in Taiwan and the Asia Pacific region. Involved in the ECCT’s Tax and Luxury Goods committees. Also involved in the University of Southern California’s Taiwan Alumni. She would like to contribute to make use of her operational management experience in working for a multinational company to make Taiwan a better place for European investors.
 

Olivier Rousselet
Country Manager, BNP Paribas Taiwan


10 years of working experience in Taiwan and 25 years in the Asia Pacific region. Currently ECCT Vice Chairman and Treasurer. Actively involved in the board’s working group responsible for reviewing Position Papers. Interested in further strengthening relations with governmental agencies and promoting committee work.

 

Bernd Barkey
Managing Director, Robert Bosch Taiwan Co., Ltd.


6 years of working experience in Taiwan and 13 years in the Asia Pacific region including 5 years in mainland China, 2 years in Japan and 6 years in Taiwan. On the board of directors for 6 years and ECCT Chairman in 2015 & 2016. Currently Automotive committee Co-Chair and active in the Low Carbon Initiative and Technology committee. On the board of director’s Events and External Relations working groups. Member of the Working Group of the German Trade Office. Wants to promote free trade (lower import tariffs and regulations) and support the acceptance of European standards and testing by Taiwanese authorities.
 

Giuseppe Izzo
General Manager, STMicroelectronics Ltd.


20+ years of working experience in Taiwan and 29 years in the Asia Pacific region. Currently ECCT Vice Chairman and Co-Chair of the Technology committee and member of the Low Carbon Initiative Steering committee. Former ECCT Chairman from 2013-2014. Also involved with the Taiwan Telematics Industry Association, SEMI Taiwan, the American Club in China (ACC- Taipei). Interested in working on harmonising the regulatory environment of Taiwan with Europe and promoting low carbon technology activities within IoT and smart driving.

 
Erdal Elver
President and CEO, Siemens Limited Taiwan

5 years of working experience in Taiwan and 13 years in Asia Pacific region (including China from 2004-2008 and Vietnam from 2008-2012). Current board director. Actively involved the ECCT’s Low Carbon Initiative as a member of the Steering committee promoting advocacy and best practices (sharing). Also involved with the German Trade Office. 

Godwin J. Chang
Group Country Head, Société Générale Taipei Branch


Over 20 years of working experience in the Asia-Pacific region including 10 years in Taiwan, and over 35 years in banking. Currently serving as Executive Director on the ECCT board and on the Events working group, responsible for events such as the EDD, wine dinners and Gala Ball. Co- Chair of the joint ECCT /AmCham Banking committee. Actively involved in the Taipei community:  Board Supervisor of the American Club in China (ACC- Taipei). Has worked for a diverse list of international banks: Irving Trust/BNY, Citibank, ANZ and SOCIETE GENERALE (2nd largest bank in France by market cap, 163,000 employees) in NY, HK and Taipei. Actively and visibly engaged in the effort to improve the banking environment for foreign banks in Taiwan and an advocate of transparency and accountability.
 

Håkan Cervell
President, Ericsson Taiwan Ltd.


3 years of working experience in Taiwan and 14 years in the Asia Pacific region. ECCT Chairman in 2017 and concurrently Co-Chair of the Telecom, Media & Content committee. Also active in the Swedish Chamber of Commerce Taipei. Wants to remain an active board director since he believes that the industry he represent (Telecom) is already and will become an even more important part of the transformation all industries will go through in the next few years, both in Taiwan as well as globally.
 

Irene Feng
Managing Director of Nephrocare Asia Pacific Taiwan Branch, Fresenius Medical Care Group

Over 30 years in Taiwan and the Asia Pacific region. Co-Chair of Healthcare Enhancement Committee since 2012. Under her leadership the HE Committee not only successfully gives full play to the role of advocating healthcare environment policy but also liaises with the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device committees to promote advocacy in line with global trends, practices and proposals. She understands that building a trustworthy relationship and positive partnership with the government is the essence of the ECCT. Interested in strengthening the visibility of the ECCT and creating transparency in its communication with the government in an effort to shape a favourable business environment for foreign investors in Taiwan.
 

Eric Yu
General Manager & Global VP, Philips Lighting Taiwan Ltd.

2 years of working experience in Taiwan and 10+ years in the Asia Pacific region. Involved in the Low Carbon Initiative.

Agatha Lee
Area Head Taiwan, Cathay Pacific Airways

First year working in Taiwan and 15 years in Asia Pacific region and Europe. Involved in the Travel & Tourism committee. As someone with an aviation background, she is interested in the travel and tourism sector, infrastructure development and policies on service industries, which are imperative to operators in these fields, and one of the key elements to facilitate foreign trade. She would like to contribute by making our voices known to policy makers.

 

John Winter
Country Manager, Robert Walters

4 years of working experience in Taiwan and 8 years in the Asia-Pacific region. Currently board director actively involved in the Events and Position Paper working groups. Regular contributor to the HR committee. Also involved in the BCCT and the Taiwan Business Leaders Forum. As a recruiting business providing talent to many ECCT members, he is interested in several areas of the chamber’s work on behalf of the business community. In particular, he is very keen to help further the human resources issues that are a challenge to business growth in Taiwan.

 

Bart Linssen
Country Representative, ENERCON Taiwan Ltd.


21 years of working experience in Taiwan and the Asia Pacific region. Current ECCT board director and Co-Chair of the Wind Energy committee. Actively involved in the Low Carbon Initiative as a member of the Steering committee. Interested in sharing European experiences in sustainable technologies with Taiwan and creating new opportunities for European green businesses.

 

John Pien
General Manager, Grundfos Handels AG Taiwan Branch

11 years of working experience in Taiwan, 6 years in China, 2 years in Hong Kong, and much earlier 15 years in the United States. Actively involved in LCI activities with an aim of combining environmental aspects with energy efficient products. Has served as Committee Chair of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, President of the Chinese Institute of Engineers-UIUC Chapter, and currently Board Director of Miaoli Tongluo Industrial Park Manufacturers Association, and Board Director of ECCT. Grundfos Taiwan was honoured to win the Enterprise Environmental Protection Award in 2016 and 2017. Interested in helping fellow ECCT members advocate, promote and share best practices through pioneering their work, technologies and solutions to make a difference in contributing sustainability and improving the quality of life for people and society.
 

Francine Wu
CEO, Schroder Investment Management (Taiwan) Limited

29 years of working experience in Taiwan and the Asia Pacific region. Long-time ECCT board director and Co-Chair of the Asset Management committee. Currently on the board’s working groups responsible for CSR & TES, Events and position papers. Interested in Corporate Social Responsibility & environmental and social governance, Greater China business opportunities, globalisation of asset management business, liberalisation and alignment with global standards and Taiwan pension system reform. 


 

Anjana Narain
Vice President & General Manager, GlaxoSmithKline Far East B.V. Taiwan Branch

Anjana was appointed GM Taiwan earlier this year and brings diversity of experience having worked on 3 continents including Asia, Europe and North America.  She is a member of ECCT’s Pharmaceutical committee, American Chamber of Commerce, and the International Research-Based Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association. She is an advocate for improved healthcare system including sustainable budgetary policies, accessibility to innovation and partnerships for access to medicines.  In addition, she is promoting transparency and a trust building agenda, which are the key elements for establishing the environment to support fair competition and free trade. She also wishes to bring in more open and inclusive views to the board from a female leader’s perspective.

 

Reiner A. Allgeier
Managing Director, Schenker (HK) Ltd., Taiwan Branch

2 years of working experience in Taiwan and 18 years in the Asia Pacific region. Was President of the German Philippine Chamber of Commerce from 2010 to 2012. Involved in the ECCT’s Supply Chain committee. Also involved with AmCham, the German Trade Office and the Rotary Club of Taipei. Interested in logistics, transportation, trade and dual education issues. 

 

Eckart Mayer
President & CEO, Mercedes-Benz Taiwan Ltd.

5 years of working experience in Taiwan and 10 years in the Asia Pacific region. Current board director and Co-Chair of the Automotive committee. Also involved in AmCham and German Trade Office Working Group. Interested in sharing European best practice examples with Taiwan government & corporates; encouraging more bilateral investments between Taiwan & Europe; supporting further integration of Taiwan in international free trade; further enhancing local CSR activities as good corporate citizens; contributing towards local talent development; increasing awareness about environmental protection issues including contributions towards Taiwan low carbon objectives.
 

Hu Da-ming
President, Air Liquide Far Eastern Ltd.

2 years of working experience in Taiwan and 17 years in the Asia Pacific region, including Taiwan. Involved in the ECCT as a Europe Day Dinner Sponsor. Interested in labour law and the investment environment in Taiwan, promoting CSR and environmental responsibility.
 

John Demers
General Manager, Atlas Copco Taiwan Ltd.

Over one year of working experience in Taiwan and the Asia Pacific region. Involved in the ECCT’s Low Carbon Initiative. Also involved in AmCham Taipei and the Swedish Chamber in Taipei. Being part of a Swedish industrial company where sustainability is a core value, continuing to work with the Low Carbon Initiative while promoting Corporate Social Responsibility is very important. Also, having been directly involved in Atlas Copco’s connectivity solutions, he is keen on IoT innovations to continue pushing Industry 4.0.
 


2018 Board of Supervisor Candidates

Nathan Kaiser
Attorney-at-Law (Switzerland), Eiger
 
19 years of working experience in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region. Supervisor in 2016 and 2017 and previous board director for several terms. Interested in and actively contributing to issues related to Taiwan’s legal environment, Taiwan’s position in the WTO, foreign investment, digital economy and digital society, but also with regard to the situation of foreigners in Taiwan - broadly ranging from schooling to non-discriminatory treatment in daily life in Taiwan.

 

Martin Lindström
Group Director, DFI Home Furnishings Taiwan Limited - IKEA Taiwan

Has over 15 years of working experience in the Asia Pacific region including 11 years in Taiwan. Executive Supervisor between 2014 and 2016. Co-chair of the ECCT’s Retail & Distribution committee until 2015. He is also the Chairman of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce Taipei in 2017. Interested in improving cooperation and dialogue between European retailers and the Taiwan authorities with a special focus on issues relating to import restrictions from the PRC and general regulatory improvement of the retailing environment in Taiwan.
 

Mike Jewell
Chief Client Officer, Kantar TNS

16 years of working experience in Taiwan and 20 years in the Asia Pacific region. Current Executive Supervisor and Co-Chair of the Better Living committee and Marketing Club. Regular speaker at ECCT events and responsible for designing and managing surveys undertaken by the chamber. The chamber fulfills an important role in Taiwan, representing a large and diverse constituency of businesses. He is delighted to have worked with ECCT for many years. He strongly supports the initiatives aimed at improving society generally, especially the LCI and the excellent work of the Better Living committee.
 

Rami Baitieh
CEO, Carrefour Taiwan

2.5 years of working experience in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region. Current ECCT Supervisor and Co-Chair of the ECCT’s Retail & Distribution committee. Also involved with CCIFT and Conseillers du Commerce Extérieur de la France.

 

Brandon Hsu
Country Manager, Regus Taiwan

20+ years of working experience in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region. Involved in ECCT activities such as the Gala Ball, business lunches, especially topics related to investment and business solutions. Also involved with BCCT, AmCham and CCIFT. Interested in supporting ECCT members to work more efficiency in terms of office solutions both in Taiwan and globally.
 

Gavin Zhong
Managing Director, Volkswagen Financial Services Taiwan Ltd.

3 years working experience in Taiwan and 10 years in the Asia-Pacific region. Involved in ECCT activities as well as the German Trade Office and the Taiwan Business Leaders’ Forum. Intensive experiences as controller, M&A, CFO across different industries, including consumer products, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and financial services. Wharton MBA.
 

Thomas Kuiper
General ManagerGandi Asia Co., Ltd.

Over 10 years of working experience in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region. ECCT Supervisor since 2015. Involved in the ECCT’s Technology, Education, and Telecom, Media and Content committees. He considers the biggest challenge in the IT industry in Taiwan is the lack of human resources (such as software engineers). Interested in working closely with government to tackle this challenge and to keep Taiwan open and in line with international standards. Speaks in German, French and English and understands a lot of Chinese.
